Disable control panel in windows 8.1



Steps to Disable control panel in windows 8.1

First log in to server then open group policy management and right click on group policy object then click on new, type name for this new group policy object then click ok
Right click on group policy object which we created then click on edit

In Group policy management editor open User configuration then policy then administrative template policy from there open control panel

After opening control from GPO editor you can see Prohibited access control panel and pc settings right click on it then click on edit from policy settings click on Enable then click on apply and ok.

Our group policy for disabling control panel on windows 8.1 is created now it’s time to apply this policy for doing this right click on OU on which you want to apply this policy then select policy then click on ok
Now you can check this policy on client computers before doing this restart client computer or update group policy. After update of group policy user not able to see control panel or if user want to access control panel by running command control.exe he will get restrictions message that is This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer Please contact your system administrator
In this example we done this for windows 8.1 this policy will also work for windows 7
