Manage Remote Computer with Computer Management Tool (Compmgmt.msc)



It is easy to manage users account from active directory.  But through active directory, You can only manage users on the domain. What if you have to manage local users of remote computer?. In this post, you will read about how you can manage local users of the remote computer with Computer Management Tool. Remote management is easy with Computer Management Tool. You can manage user accounts of the remote computer through computer management console. With the help of Computer management tool, You can create and manage user’s, in addition, you can access all system tools, services and applications etc of the remote computer.

How to connect to a remote computer using the Computer Management tool
To access or manage remote computer with computer management tool you have to open computer management tool you can do it in two ways:
First, log in to the client computer with administrator or user with admin rights.
You can access computer management tool by right click on my computer or through command. I will show you both ways to access it.
  1. Right click on My computer and lick on Manage 
OR
2. Open Run and copy and paste or type command COMPMGMT.MSC.
With the help of both methods, you can access Computer Management.
To access another computer on network right click on Computer Management (Local) {local means it’s your computer} and click on Connect to another computer.

Then in select computer window type the computer name or browse computer that you want to access.
Now you are connected with the remote computer you can access all services and application, share folder, Event viewer and Users etc from this screen.
As you have access to remote computer management console you can change the password or enable, disable and manage remote computer user’s from here.
